Il murales rappresenta il momento della partenza in cui i nostri emigranti lasciavano la famiglia e gli affetti per cercare lavoro in altri paesi.
Siamo abituati a vedere rappresentato il momento dell’arrivo dell’abbraccio e del ricongiungimento agli affetti più cari, in quest’opera l’autrice ha voluto sottolineare il momento più doloroso dell’emigrazione, lo strappo, il distacco dalla famiglia di origine. I bambini sono letteralmente aggrappati al padre che partirà con la speranza di trovare un futuro migliore.
C’era molto da aspettare prima di avere notizie del proprio congiunto. Bisogna considerare che si dovevano aspettare mesi, almeno tre, prima di avere notizie del proprio familiare.

The wall painting represents the moment of departure, when emigrants would leave their families and loved ones to go looking for a job in other countries.
We’re used to seeing representations of the moment of the arrival and the reunion with the dear ones. In this work, however, the author wanted to underline the most painful moment, the one of separation from the family of origin. The children are literally clinging to their father, who’s about to leave hoping to find a better life.
There was much time to wait before having some news of the departed loved one. The waiting time was usually three months.

Das Wandgemälde stellt den Moment des Aufbruchs dar, als unsere Auswanderer ihre Familien und Angehörigen verließen, um in anderen Ländern Arbeit zu suchen.
Wir sind gewohnt, den Moment der Ankunft der Umarmung und des Wiedersehens mit den Liebsten dargestellt zu sehen, in diesem Werk wollte der Autor den schmerzlichsten Moment der Emigration, den Riss, die Trennung von der Herkunftsfamilie hervorheben. Die Kinder klammern sich buchstäblich an ihren Vater, der in der Hoffnung auf eine bessere Zukunft weggeht.
Es dauerte lange, bis man von seinem Verwandten hörte. Man musste Monate, mindestens drei Monate, warten, bis man von seinem Verwandten hörte.
